A lightweight, durable, and economical Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), it’s ideal for many industrial IDHL (immediately dangerous to life or health) applications. As a pressure-demand apparatus, it’s designed to maintain a slight positive air pressure inside the facepiece during inhalation and exhalation. This helps prevent contaminants from seeping in and around the facepiece—even should small breaks occur in the face-to-facepiece seal. The AirFrame™ carrier and harness feature large side handles and a central attachment point to pull workers to safety in rescue situations. The harness actually distributes the SCBA’s weight over the user’s hips for added comfort and stability. Its composite backplate is made of glass-fiber-reinforced thermoset plastic and is ergonomically designed with spine strain relief. This SCBA assembly also includes a medium Ultra-Elite facepiece with a Hycar rubber face seal, rubber head harness, and a low-pressure (2216 psig), 30-minute aluminum cylinder. NIOSH approved and non-NFPA-compliant.
